This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is deliberately short, because the site collects very little.

Crabclaw Tech Ltd (“Crabclaw”, “I”, “me”) is the data controller for information collected through crabclaw.co.uk.

What this site does not do
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, and no third-party scripts building a profile of you.
Fonts and every other asset are served from this site’s own server rather than a content delivery network, so simply reading a page does not disclose your IP address to any third party.
The site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. Cookies are only used if you log in to the site as an administrator, which applies to me and not to you.
The contact form
If you send an enquiry, I collect:
- your name
- your email address
- the project type you select
- whatever you write in the message
- the page you submitted the form from
Why: to read your enquiry and reply to it. Nothing else. Your details are never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or added to a mailing list.
Legal basis: legitimate interests — responding to someone who has deliberately contacted me about work — and, where your enquiry concerns engaging my services, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Where it goes: enquiries are stored in this website’s database and also sent to me by email. I do not record your IP address when you submit the form.
How long: enquiries are kept for 24 months from our last correspondence, then deleted. If we go on to work together, project correspondence is kept for as long as I need it for the contract and for the period required by tax and accounting rules.
Comments
If you leave a comment on a post, WordPress stores the comment along with your name, email address, IP address and browser identification string. This helps with spam detection. Comments are retained indefinitely unless you ask me to remove them.

Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by GoDaddy, who process data on my behalf as a data processor. Like virtually all web servers, theirs keep access logs which typically include IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser identification. These are generated automatically for security and diagnostics, and I do not use them to identify individuals.
Email sent from the site is delivered through the same provider’s mail service.
This policy covers crabclaw.co.uk only. Soodo, a separate product operated by the same company, runs on its own infrastructure and has its own privacy policy at soodo.io/privacy.
Sharing
I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone except:
- my hosting and email provider, as described above
- where I am legally required to disclose it
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the information I hold about you
- correct anything inaccurate
- delete it
- restrict or object to how I use it
- provide it in a portable format

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, the UK’s data protection regulator.

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
