Soodo — Quick Capture v0.0.1 is live on the Chrome Web Store. It went into review on 5 August and was listed on the 7th.

Soodo is the task manager I’m building on the premise that capture, not organisation, is where to-do apps actually fail. The extension is the sharpest version of that idea: the point at which a thought turns up while you’re busy doing something else.

What it does

Three capture modes, all designed to run without leaving the tab you’re on:

  • Quick add in plain language. Type a line like call mum tomorrow !high #family and it lands as a task with a due date, a priority and a tag already attached. It understands today, tomorrow, in 2 days, next week and any weekday name, with four priority levels.
  • Region screenshots. Draw a box anywhere on the page and the crop attaches to a new task, so whatever you were looking at is still there when you come back to it.
  • Voice notes. One click to record straight into a task, for when talking is faster than typing.

Your real lists — smart and custom — are in the popup, so a capture lands where it belongs rather than in a pile to sort later, and everything syncs to the web app immediately.

It asks for three permissions and no host permissions at all. Nothing is stored about the pages you visit. Region capture only ever runs on the tab you’re looking at, and only after you click the button.

What’s next

Google sign-in is coming, and a cosmetic release to carry the new branding once the artwork lands.
